LAHORE: Total 484 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 01 life was lost and 418 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 182 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on July 15, 201 drivers, 24 underage drivers, 70 pedestrians and 330 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 102 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 115 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 50 RTAs in Faisalabad with 61 victims and Multan remained at third position with 39 RTAs and 43 victims.
The details further show that total 601 in victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 508 males and 93 females, while age group of the victims show that 85 were under 18 year of age, 371 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 145 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 410 motorbikes, 51 auto rickshaws, 43 motorcars, 18 vans, 4 passenger buses, 9 trucks and 68 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
