LAHORE: Total 422 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 02 lives were lost and 358 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 137 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on June 17, 166 drivers, 19 underage drivers, 70 pedestrians and 261 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 86 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 89 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 53 RTAs in Faisalabad with 57 victims and Multan remained at third position with 22 RTAs and 31 victims.
The details further show that total 497 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 398 males and 99 females, while age group of the victims show that 86 were under 18 year of age, 308 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 103 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 351 motorbikes, 33 auto rickshaws, 38 motorcars, 16 vans, 5 passenger buses, 12 trucks and 53 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
