LAHORE: Total 457 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 4 lives were lost and 376 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 160 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on Wednesday, 201 drivers, 17 Underage Drivers, 79 pedestrians and 260 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 116 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 118 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 51 RTAs in Faisalabad with 54 victims and Multan remained at third position with 22 RTAs and 28 victims.
The details further show that total 540 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 443 males and 97 females, while age group of the victims show that 78 were under 18 year of age, 325 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 137 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 355 motorbikes, 61 auto rickshaws, 47 motorcars, 23 vans, 6 passenger buses, 9 trucks and 58 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
