LAHORE: Total 499 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 07 lives were lost and 412 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 204 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on June 18, 209 drivers, 19 underage drivers, 101 pedestrians and 313 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 123 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 152 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 52 RTAs in Faisalabad with 59 victims and Gujranwala remained at third position with 31 RTAs and 34 victims.
The details further show that total 623 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 488 males and 135 females, while age group of the victims show that 88 were under 18 year of age, 364 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 171 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 420 motorbikes, 53 auto rickshaws, 62 motorcars, 15 vans, 7 passenger buses, 17 trucks and 56 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
