LAHORE: Total 531 road traffic accidents were reported in Rescue 1122’s Provincial Monitoring Cell in all 36 Districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours, in which 10 lives were lost and 470 serious injured were shifted to different hospitals of relevant district. However, some 193 victims sustaining minor injuries were provided first on the spot.
According to the details issued on Saturday, 287 drivers, 32 Underage Drivers, 76 pedestrians and 310 passengers were among the victims of these road traffic accidents. The statistics show 98 RTAs were reported in Lahore Control Room, which affected 117 persons placing the Provincial Capital at top of the list followed by 63 RTAs in Faisalabad with 69 victims and Multan remained at third position with 37 RTAs and 48 victims.
The details further show that total 673 victims were affected by road traffic crashes including 542 males and 131 females, while age group of the victims show that 125 were under 18 year of age, 414 were between 18 and 40 year and rest of the 134 victims were reported above 40 years. According to the data, 451 motorbikes, 61 auto rickshaws, 57 motorcars, 20 vans, 2 passenger buses, 8 trucks and 46 other types of auto vehicles and slow moving carts were involved in aforesaid road traffic accidents.
