LAYYAH, Pakistan: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was striving hard to curb load shedding on permanent basis for which 10,000 megawatt of electricity would be added to the national grid by next year.

“PML-N believes in serving the people,” the prime minister said while addressing a large public gathering in Layyah on Tuesday, adding that power plants were being installed across the Country to overcome power outages.

The prime minister said that their opponents had failed to serve in the provinces where they were in power.

Nawaz Sharif said that people had rejected their opponents in 2013 general elections while they would elect the PML-N again in next elections.

Furthermore, the prime minister also announced development projects of billions of rupees for the people of Layyah and adjoining areas.

Sharif said that the bridge on Indus River would be completed at a cost of Rs7 billion that would link Layyah and Taunsa. He said the bridge would also reduce distance of 180 kilometers to just 24 kilometers enabling people to reach Indus Highway from Layyah in 30 minutes.

The prime minister also announced provision of gas to Chowk Azam, Keror and Fatehpur areas. He also announced Health Cards for Layyah.
