ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Friday said it is looking for options to move their base from United Arab Emirates (UAE) for staging its home series in future because of financial considerations, revealing that Sri Lanka and South Africa are the top contenders for their neutral venue .

“We have been unable to make profits from our series held in the United Arab Emirates (UAE),” a top PCB official said while talking to the state-run news agency.

“The UAE have started charging us too much therefore we have decided to shift our base from UAE to other countries,” he said adding just because to host our home series in the UAE the board had already lost millions of dollars.

He said the issue is in discussion within the PCB and “we are also likely to talk to other cricket boards before make any final decision on the matter.

“We will check each and every thing and wherever the profit will be more, we would move to that venue,” the official said.

It may be mentioned that Pakistan has been forced to host its home series in the UAE after the sad incident that took place on the Sri Lankan team in Lahore in 2009. Following the attacks, the International Cricket Council (ICC) also stripped Pakistan of its hosting rights of World Cup 2011 matches.

Since 2009, Pakistan has only hosted limited over series at home against Afghanistan, Kenya and Zimbabwe. PCB also hosted its own cricket league Pakistan Super League (PSL) in the UAE after international players refused to tour here.
