KARACHI, Pakistan: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP)-led Sindh government on Saturday presented its fourth budget for next financial year with a total outlay of Rs869.12 billion.
While presenting the budget in the Sindh Assembly, the Provincial Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah said the total revenue expenditure is estimated to grow by 13.8 percent to Rs 572.76 billion in the next financial year.
The minister said that the receipts of province for the financial year 2016-17 with 17.61 percent increase are estimated Rs 854.50 billion.
The Sindh finance minister said that an amount of Rs 160.7 billion has been earmarked for education sector which is 28 percent of the total budget while for health sector, Rs 61.75 billion have been allocated.
Murad Ali Shah said that the Sindh budget has Rs 225 billion for Annual Development Program for next financial year.
The finance minister also announced 10 percent adhoc relief allowance on running basic pay after merging adhoc allowances of 2013 and 2014 for all the government employees in the province.
The minister said that 50,000 new jobs will be created in police, health, education and other departments in coming financial year.
