ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 119,796 robberies, 374,309 thefts and 165 suicide attacks were reported all across the country during the five year (2010-14), the National Assembly was informed on Wednesday.
Replying to a question by Dr. Shreen Mazari, the Federal Parliamentary Secretary Interior, Maryam Aurangzeb informed the house about the remedial steps take so for to prevent such incidents.
Giving breakup figures, she said that as many as 93,126 robberies were reported in Punjab, 21,201 in Sindh, 765 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 416 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 105 in Gilgit Baltistan, 1,784 in Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) and 2,399 were reported in Balochistan.
Similarly, as many as 310,730 theft incidents were reported in Punjab, 46,238 in Sindh, 7,904 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 1,609 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 794 in Gilgit Baltistan, 3,012 in ICT and 4,022 in Balochistan.
As far as other suicide attacks are concerned, 20 were reported in Punjab, 9 in Sindh, 106 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 3 in ICT and 25 in Balochistan.
