ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood has told the National Assembly that the Basic Education Community Schools (BECS) are working since 1995 across the Country with a large network of 12,175 schools.
In a written reply to a question by Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, the minister told on Wednesday that as many as 463,198 learners including 211,615 males and 251,583 females are enrolled in BECS across the Country.
Shafqat Mehmood that the Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training has issued a written assurance to the BECS teachers that no teacher will be removed arbitrarily.
The minister also told the House that the education ministry will expedite payment of dues and consider BECS teachers for regularization. He said that the dues shall be paid soon as PC-I is approved by the competent forum i.e. Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC).
The minister for federal education said that BESC teachers shall be considered for regularization within a year’s time.
