LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government on Monday gave its consent for the holding of Pakistan Super League (PSL) final in Lahore, brushing aside speculations about the possible replacement of final venue over security concerns.
In a high-level meeting of Provincial Cabinet Committee in Lahore on Monday, the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif approved the holding of final match of HBL PSL 2017 at Gaddafi Stadium on March 5, and said that the decision was taken in the best interest of country and nation.

Shahbaz Sharif directed to provide hundred percent foolproof security cover for the final. He also directed the Provincial Cabinet Committee for Law and Order to check the security arrangements.
The Chief Minister also appealed the public to fully cooperate with the provincial government for holding of this match.
Talking to media, the Chairman PSL Najam Sethi said that tickets of the HBL PSL 2017 Final will be available online from tomorrow (Tuesday).
Meanwhile, preparations at the Gaddafi Stadium are in full swing for the PSL final.
However, the legendary cricketer and Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan said that the idea of PSL final in Lahore is totally a foolish attempt.
“If any untoward incident occurs then no cricket for next 10 years,” Imran said in a program ‘Nadeem Malik Live’ on Samaa News.
Another legendary cricketer Javed Miandad also backed the stance of Imran Khan on holding of PSL final in Lahore. He said that under strict security measures and insecure environment, even players won’t be mentally relaxed to perform.
#PSLFinal It is an extremely high risk gamble. can put the country on the edge. But now the decision is made, prayers for its success.
