BEIRUT: At least 16 soldiers were killed when a suicide vehicle bombing occurred at an army checkpoint on the outskirts of Syrian capital Damascus on Saturday.
The explosion that was carried out by rebels led by the Al-Qaeda-linked Jabhat Al-Nusra or Nusra Fron, took place at the entrance of the Christian-Druze neighborhood of Jaramana.
The attack also caused damage to properties in the area.
