ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf on Wednesday said that a total of 189,210 people from Pakistan would perform Hajj this year under the new Hajj Police 2017 approved by the Federal Cabinet.
Earlier in the day, the Federal Cabinet with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Chair approved the Hajj Policy 2017.
The prime minister appreciated the efforts of the Ministry of Religious Affairs for making good arrangements for the Hujjaj last year. He directed to again work out the Hajj expenses and present revised rates in the next cabinet meeting.
Later briefing the media on new Hajj Policy, the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs said that maximum facilities would be provided to Hujjaj on directives of the prime minister.
The minister said that Pakistan’s Hajj quota of 189,210 have been restored.
Sardar Yousuf said that Hajj application could be submitted from April 17 while Hajj draw would be conducted on April 28.
The religious affairs minister told that 107,526 Hujjaj would perform Hajj on the government quota and 71,684 would perform under the private quota.
