RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: At least 22 militants were killed in fighter jet strikes carried out in the North Waziristan tribal region, according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
In in a statement issued on Wednesday, the ISPR said that the precise aerial strikes were taken in an area ahead of Datta Khel in North Waziristan agency.
“22 Terrorists were killed in precise aerial strikes late last night in area ahead of Datta Khel in North Wazirastan Agency,” the ISPR said.
The air strikes were conducted as part of the ongoing military operation Zarb-e-Azb in the tribal region. The armed forces launched the operation in June last year against different outlawed militant organization in a bid to end militancy from the country.
The Chinese President Xi Jinping, who recently paid a two-day official visit to Pakistan, in a meeting with services chiefs in Islamabad on Monday termed Pakistan’s armed forces operation Zarb-e-Azb’s remarkable results as game changer in bringing peace which will contribute to Pakistan’s economic development.
Xi Jinping appreciated Pakistan’s strenuous efforts in counterterrorism, and vowed to continue to support it in fight against terrorism to bring stability in the region.
