RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday presided over the 220th Corps Commanders’ Conference at army’s general headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
In a press release, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the forum reviewed the geo-strategic environment and the ongoing situation along the eastern border.
The ISPR said that the forum expressed strong will, resolve and determination to defend the motherland against any misadventure or aggression.
The forum reiterated to continue its efforts for bringing enduring peace in the country while supporting all initiatives towards regional peace. It also expressed its resolve to support government and all stake holders in implementation of National Action Plan (NAP).
In his remarks, the COAS said that having achieved successes against terrorism, Pakistan is on a positive trajectory of becoming a State where prerogative of use of weapons rests with the state alone and socio-economic development is taking preeminence.
