ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) Managing Director Abdul Ghafoor said on Tuesday that the company has achieved its target to promote tourism industry as 35 percent tourists ratio increased as compared to previous years.
He said tourists attracted by various packages that has launched by PTDC as the motels were packed throughout the season with families and their children enjoying snowy weather at several hilly areas.
The corporation initiated steps to facilitate tourists and enhance revenue generation of the company by taking initiatives like security provision.
“Elaborate measures were taken to provide safety to foreign tourists visiting the country, for which PTDC has increased security at popular resorts,” he said.
“PTDC has initiated Tourism Friends Club card, through which tourists can receive discounts, packages and transport services.”
He added that tourist flow to the areas has considerably increased in the past two years, with many people visiting new destinations like Gilgit, Hunza, the Fairy Meadows and other valleys.
“In addition, PTDC projects in Karachi can be utilized for launching projects like a beach resort, outdoor and indoor facilities and water sports clubs that can help the economy.”
