ISLAMABAD: A magnitude 5.5 earthquake jolted different cities in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including the federal capital and Azad Kashmir areas overnight, causing to run out of their houses in panic.

The epicenter was located in an area about 119 kilometers in south-east of Sri Nagar, the Meteorological Department said. The department further said the jolts were felt at 2:37am PST.

The cities that felt the jolts of earthquak include Lahore, Jehlum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, Mansehra, Battagram and Azad Kashmir.
