Education59 more Islamabad Schools to offer Montessori Programme

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 59 more Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Schools will start offering Montessori Classes this year as part of the Prime Minister Education Reforms Programme.

The programme is being launched by the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) which last year facilitated commencement of Montessori Programme in 11 Schools of the Federal Capital.

Talking to the state-run news agency, the Parliamentary Secretary for CADD Maiza Hameed said with 59 more Schools, the total number of educational institutions having initiated Montessori Programme would reach 70.

Maiza Hameed said the Montessori Programme had been launched with the help of private sector schools and non-governmental organisations (NGOs), having specialization in Early Childhood Education (ECC).

“We have already established Montessori sections this year in 66 ICT public sector schools with the help of private sector,” Maiza said.

Maiza said so far a total of 1,460 students had been enrolled in all 66 Montessori Sections.

The Parliamentary Secretary for CADD said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was committed to bring quality of public sector educational institutes at par with high ranking private institutions.
