Mexico: 7.5 magnitude earthquake strikes Mexico. There is also no Tsunami alert.  Last night hailstorm hit the city and traffic is still not smooth yet.

According to the National (SSN) Seismological Service, earthquake has occurred at 9.27 (local time) 31 kilometers northwest of Técpan de Galeana and the epicenter was located 10 kilometers deep. There are no reports yet on possible casualties or damage. Coordinator of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Interior , Luis Felipe Puente said on Twitter that no damage report . There is also no Tsunami alert .

Mexico City , established on the ruins of Tenochtitlan , the Aztec capital founded on Lake Texcoco , is in an intense seísmica area. The earthquake this morning reminiscent of 2012 , when a 7.7 shook the city . And every time shaking (strong) in the DF back memories of the devastating earthquake of September 19, 1985 , a catastrophe of 8.1 that left at least 10,000 dead , according to official figures .

Some areas of Mexico City have been without power and the noise of the helicopters that fly overhead interrupts the usual silence of a festive day.

It may be mentioned that last night an unusual hailstorm hit the city and the highway linking Mexico City to Toluca, one of the busiest roads leaving the capital remained closed nearly 10 hours due to an unusual hailstorm.

The traffic on the highway linking Mexico City to Morelia, Michoacan and Guadalajara (the second city) remained slow until this morning. Still thousands of vehicles remained stuck in the west of the capital . Hail reached up to 40 inches tall.

“It was terrible, it took over 12 hours to reach Toluca trip that normally takes less than an hour,” said the agency Efe Marco Millan, one of the people affected by the jam
