PATNA: A total of 92 children have died of suspected encephalitis in the Indian eastern state of Bihar, the Indian media citing official sources reported on Monday.
The official sources said that in the past 24 hours, 15 more children died of the suspected Acute Encephalitis Syndrome (AES) in various parts of the state.
The sources said that the disease was limited to Muzaffarpur district of Bihar till last week, but now it has spread to at least half a dozen districts across the state.
The Bihar health department has sent mobile treatment vans and 55 doctors from other districts to Muzaffarpur.
