ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Rain and landslide related incidents took lives of 92 persons and injured 77, besides damaging 1,209 houses in different parts of the country.

According to a spokesman of NDMA, heavy rainfall in northern parts of the country caused land sliding at Uthoor area Tehsil Kardia district Kohistan on April 4.

A massive landslide struck at least seven houses in the morning, burying alive at least 30 people.

Relief operation commenced on the same day. Two dead bodies and five injured have so far been recovered. Work to open the Karakuram highway, damaged due to landslides, is also in progress by Frontier Works Organization (FWO).

NDMA, PDMA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are making concerted efforts in coordination with DC Dasu for early recovery of remaining missing persons.
