LAHORE: An order has been issued by the metro bus authority to raise the price of tickets from Rs20 to Rs40 from March 26, Dispatch news Desk (DND) reported on Tuesday.
It had been announced at the launching of the bus service that the ticket prices would climb after a while, the bus authorities claimed.
Initially, the authorities allowed passengers to travel free for a week after the bus service was launched in February 10 this year. However, after a short while, a fare of Rs20 was fixed.
Moreover, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif announced while launching the bus service that the bus fare will be kept within the reach of the common man.
But the authorities said on Tuesday the price of tickets earlier fixed was introductory and set up for a short period of time.
