Health778000 children to be vaccinated against polio in Peshawar

PESHAWAR, Pakistan: As many 778000 children under the age of 5 years would be vaccinated against polio here during the upcoming campaign starting from December 14.

Deputy Commissioner, Riaz Mehsud Thursday chaired a meeting of District Polio Committee to discuss and finalize arrangements for the upcoming vaccination campaign.

Meeting was told that necessary preparations have been completed for the campaign in which 778000 children would be vaccinated against polio disease. It was told that polio teams comprising 2125 workers would participate in the immunization.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner directed to ensure polio vaccination to each and every child adding Ulema would be engaged to achieve the target.

The meeting among others was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Irshad Sodhar, DSM PPHI, Dr. Mukhtiar and other concerned officials.
