ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday issued party position figures of wining candidates in recently held Local Government Elections in Islamabad on November 30.
According to detailed result, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-NN) has secured total 232 seats and out of them 20 Seats of Chairman and 20 Vice Chairman, 99 General Members, 34 Women, 22 Peasant/worker, 21 youth and 16 seats of Non-Muslim.
Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI) won 232 seats and out of them, 16 seats of Chairman and 16 Vice Chairman, General Members 107, Women 39, Peasant 21, Youth 20 and 13 seats of Non-Muslim.
Independent candidates secured third position as they won 14 Chairman, 14 Vice Chairman seats, 77 general members, 23 women, 6 worker, and 7 youth and Non-Muslim seats each.
The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) both failed to secure any Chairman or Vice Chairman seat. However, they secured 8 seats, each, in LG Elections.
Both the political parties won 4 general member seats, each. JI secured 3 women seats, while PPP grabbed only one. Tehreek-e-Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan (TTP) won 2 seats of General Members while 3 seats were secured by Awami Worker Party.
There were total 50 seats for chairman, 50 for Vice Chairman while general members seats were 299, women seats 100, Peasant seats 50, Youth 50 and Non-Muslim 37.
Out of total 650 seats, result for 636 contested seats was announced as 12 seats for non-Muslims in different Union Councils remained vacant, while election in UC-41 and UC-10 were postponed due to deaths of candidates.
