KARACHI, Pakistan: The Institute of Business Administration (IBA) Karachi is the first institute in Pakistan to become a member of United Nations Conference on Trade and Development’s Virtual Institute (Vi), according to an announcement made here on Tuesday.
The Vi will cooperate with the Faculty of Business Administration, in particular its Department of Economics and Finance, and the Centre of Business and Economic Research (CBER).
Dr Aadil Nakhoda, Assistant Professor of Economics at IBA, will act as IBA’s Vi coordinator. He will be supported by Dr Khadija Bari, Chairperson of the Department of Economics and Finance at IBA.
IBA is ready to provide facilities to hold trainings in Pakistan, as well as contribute the expertise of its staff and their data sources to the Vi network.
The Vi membership will provide IBA with networking opportunities in both teaching and research.
IBA also wishes to enrich their teaching by adding more up-to-date case studies from the Vi and the network, creating localized teaching materials, and developing programmes for workshops targeted at academic and government audiences in cooperation with the Vi.
This cooperation with the Vi will help promote and further develop the academic and research activities in Pakistan in the field of international and development economics, it was further pointed out.
