ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Opposition Leader in National Assembly Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah on Friday called for discussing issues relating people in the Parliament.
Speaking on a motion regarding privatization of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) and prices of oil and gas, he said parliamentarians took oath to resolve public issues rather than creating problems for them.
He said that Parliament is the supreme institution and even weak democracy is better than strong dictatorship.
He urged the government to take the issues to Parliament for discussion and legislate for the welfare of people.
Khursheed Shah said it is fundamental right of a parliamentarian to do politics for the sake of public.
Khursheed Shah said Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) government had passed 137 bills in its five years tenure with the consensus of opposition parties.
