Khabar Kay Sath Sath: Politics of putting allegations must be discouraged by media
Islamabad, Pakistan: The politics of putting allegations must be discouraged by media as a responsible fourth pillar of the state and recent interview of Hussain Nawaz Sharif who is son of Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif is a brave initiative in which he categorically rejected allegations about the Sharif family for facing Rs6 billion bank defaults.
Hussain Nawaz Sharif opted unprecedented way for coming bravely on media and questioned those who were putting unfounded blames on ruling party
This was outcome of discussion held at state run Pakistan Television’s Current Affairs show Khabar Kay Sath Sath that was broadcast on Tuesday March8, 2016.
Experts believed in one of the most popular Current Affairs show of PTV “Khabar Kay Sath Sath” hosted and anchored by Naheed Ch that Imran Khan only talked about bank default, but he never presented any evidence, like the name of the banks the Sharif family has defaulted against.
Regarding investigations against corruption, experts stated that Pakistan had a long history of putting corruption charges against politicians without any evidence and responsible institutions probing corruption charges should review the system where charges are leveled in media without evidence that could ruin the reputation of someone.
Participant of show included senior journalists Tariq Mehmood Chaudhary, Rana Qaisar and Agha Iqrar Haroon were of the view that probes against scandals should be carried out in every part of the country and if there are any issues in Punjab requiring probe, there should be no bar on initiating accountability there but accountability must not be victimization.
Participants supported the cviewpoint of Hussain Nawaz that the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif or the Prime Minister House never intervened in the affairs of the corruption watchdogs, including National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
