SARGODHA, Pakistan: The Punjab Minister for Education, Youth Affairs and Tourism, Rana Mashood Ahmad Khan said that that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government was taking extraordinary steps for the promotion of education and literacy in the province.

Talking to media persons in Sargodha on Saturday, the provincial education minister said that it was impossible to weed out terrorism from society without promoting education and literacy rate.

He said that the Punjab government was fully conscious of its obligation to meet educational needs of all the children, especially the most downtrodden sections.

“The credit for transparency in education and the eradication of booti mafia goes to present government”, he said.

The education minister announced setting up of Government Degree College for Boys in New Satellite Town Sargodha.

Later, the minister visited the schools of kiln workers children in Chak 86-87 and Chak 88 NB and interacted with the students.

The Punjab lawmakers Dr. Nadia Aziz, Abdul Razzaq Dhaloon, Chairman Sargodha Board Dr. Siraj ul Haq, Director Colleges Rana Mehboob Ahmad, Executive District Officer (EDO) Education Liaquat Ali Nasir and other concerned officers were present on the occasion.
