ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A team of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration on Thursday foiled a bid to market fake milk, stale meat and other products in different operations.

These included 18,000 litres chemical-mixed milk, 280 kilograms unhygienic meat, 750 kg Khoya (dairy product) and 2200 liter diesel in three separate operations near Tarnol Toll Plaza.

The team also arrested 15 accused allegedly involved in illegal business and impounded ten vehicles being used to transport these items.

On a tip-off, an ICT administration team, headed by Magistrate Abdul Hadi along with officials of Health Department and Police, searched a number of vehicles entering the city near Tarnol Toll Plaza and seized contaminated milk, condensed milk (Khoya), diesel and meat of dead animals.

The seized edibles were being transported from different cities of Punjab to the Federal Capital.

During the course of examination, it was revealed that the milk was mixed with urea and tested positive. The Khoya and meat were also found unhygienic for human consumption.

The first information reports (FIRs) have been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of PPC and Pure Food Ordinance 1960 at the Tarnol Police Station.
