LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab government under Punjab Small Industries Corporation has allocated Rs 500 million for promoting small and domestic industries in the province.

It was said by Punjab Minister for Industry, Trade and Investment Chaudhry Muhammad Shafiq while addressing a cheques distributing ceremony held here on Thursday.

He also distributed cheques of interest free loan of Rs 3 million among 27 skilled workers of artificial jewelry for promoting their businesses.

Chairman Task Force for Industries Amjad Nazir Butt, Director CNC Farooq Ahmed and other officials were also present.

The minister said our industry had stood on foot once again due to dynamic, affective and comprehensive policies of the government.

He said thousands of employment opportunities had been provided to people through industrial development while 900,000 families were being benefitted through the Chief Minister Self Employment Scheme and rate of return of these loans was 99 percent.

He said the Punjab Small Industries Corporation was making clusters in all the districts of the province for skilled people and later, opportunities were also being provided to shift these small industries into big units.
