EducationSDPI, Alif Ailaan to unveil `Pakistan Education Ranking 2016'

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) in partnership with the Alif Ailaan, would launch Pakistan District Education Rankings 2016 on May 24 (Tuesday).

This is the fourth annual edition of the district rankings, a new tradition that aims to instigate public debate on education in Pakistan.

According to a press release issued here, similar to past years, the rankings will focus on educational outcomes like enrolment rates, retention, learning levels and gender parity levels and some educational inputs including provision of basic facilities in schools.

By comparing the performance of districts in these two areas, the rankings assist politicians, policy makers, education providers, academics, the media and citizens in furthering their understanding of the situation on the ground, as well as the disparities between different parts of the country.

The publication of the rankings would help foster a healthy and competitive spirit in public-sector education delivery. This will generate a higher level conversation for a robust data regime providing comprehensive, credible and timely data.
