KARACHI, Pakistan: Unknown gunmen gunned down two traffic policemen near Ayesha Manzil area of Karachi on Saturday.

Sources said that the attackers were riding a motorcycle and they fled the scene successfully after shooting the traffic policemen.

Both the traffic policemen were wearing bullet proof jackets but were shot in the head which caused serious injuries to them.

Later both the policemen, who were identified as Akram and Shakeel, died while being taken to the hospital.

Sources said that soon after the incident, Rangers and police personnel reached the site and cordoned off the area. They also initiated a search operation to nab the attackers.

Meanwhile, the Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah took notice of the incident and ordered to apprehend the culprits immediately.

The incidents of target killings continued to grip the City for years but since the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) began the Karachi Operation in 2013, law and order situation has been gradually improving.
