ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: USAID-supported Gender Equity Programme (GEP) of Aurat Foundation would organize a diverse and lively series of events on May 26 and May 27 in Islamabad.
The events are on the theme of women’s economic empowerment achieved through GEP’s interventions. Beneficiaries of GEP will share their experiences.
Women artisans’ products will be displayed and musical performances, mime and a fashion show featuring the products made by women artisans are also part of the program besides panel discussions featuring prominent government officials, activists and academics.
The event will be launched at 10 am on May 26, 2016. We look forward to seeing you on both days as our guests as well as for coverage as the topic is a very relevant one that needs to be highlighted in the media.
At this occasion, tribute will also be paid to the members of National Advisory Forum (NAF), which is a national forum set up by GEP for consultation and brainstorming on broader gender equality strategies in the country.
NAF comprises distinguished personalities within parliament, federal, provincial and regional governments, standing committees, government commissions, autonomous institutions and think-tanks.
