ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Acting Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Shahrukh Nusrat has directed the Water Management Wing of the authority to ensure uninterrupted supply of water to residents during Ramadan.

He also directed for release of necessary funds for maintenance of the off road water tankers to further augment water tankers fleet of the authority to ensure maximum redressal of the complaints regarding shortage of the water.

In a high level meeting at CDA Headquarters attended by Member Administration, Member Engineering and other relevant officers.

Chairman, CDA also directed to increase the water supply distribution in the different residential area especially densely populated areas of the city.

He also directed to draw the water from the resources including Simly Dam, Khanpur Dam up to optimal level.

The other relevant formations of the Authority having the water tankers have been directed to collaborate with the Water Management Wing to meet the requirements in case of increasing the number of complaints.

Chairman CDA was apprised that CDA at present is providing 74 million gallon water on daily basis and the shortage is being met through tanker service, which operates in three shifts round the clock.

He was also informed that sufficient water is available at both major water sources Khanpur and Simly Dams which is augmented by the tube well and other water sumps.

The four Water Tanker Enquiries are operating in I-9, G-10, Government Hostel and 7 MGR at the Margalla Road to register the complaints of water shortage and ensure the provision of water promptly.

He was also apprised that CDA has made the arrangements to provide water benefiting from the load shedding free express feeding installed in the Park Area of the city. However, supply to the residential area especially in G and I series is interpreted due to load shedding issue.

Acting Chairman CDA directed that all possible resources should be channeled to ensure that there is no water shortage issue during the month of Ramdan. On this occasion the chairman also appealed to the residents of the city for rational use of water.
