ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif Thursday sought unconditional apology from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Shireen Mazari for his unparliamentary remarks attributed in his last day’s speech in the National Assembly.
Speaking in the National Assembly, he said he was unable to come to the House earlier in the morning due to some pressing official engagements, so he had delivered a letter to Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, seeking apology for his remarks in the National Assembly on Wednesday.
He said during his last day’s speech in House, he was persistently interrupted by the opposition legislators, the remarks were his natural reaction, which should not have been made.
He admitted that he had crossed the limits, and after apology the issues should be settled.
He asked the Speaker to confirm from Wednesday’s proceedings of the House he had not named anyone.
“If I had named anyone on Wednesday’s remarks I am ready to apologize from him or her hundred times.”
