QUETTA, Pakistan: A powerful blast went off in Balochistan’s Capital Quetta on Friday which left at least three persons dead and 25 others including women and children injured.
Talking to media, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police Quetta Chaudhary Manzoor said that the explosive material weighing around five kilograms might have been planted on a bicycle parked outside a shop in the Almo Chowk market in Quetta.
The market was crowded with people who were busy in Ramazan and pre-Eid shopping when the blast took place.
The dead and injured were rushed to Civil Hospital Quetta where according to doctors, three of the injured were in critical condition.
Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies (LEAs) including police and Frontier Corps (FC) personnel initiated a probe into the blast after cordoning off the area.
Sources said that the blast was so powerful that it also caused damages to walls and windows of nearby shops.
Condemning the blast, the Provincial Governor Muhammad Khan Achakzai and Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri ordered LEAs to apprehend the culprits involved in the attack.
