ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister of State for Privatization Muhammad Zubair Saturday said it was a golden opportunity for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) to fight the reference filed by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and to falsify the allegations.
Talking to a private news channel, the minister said that the PML-N government had been saying the same thing from day one that solution of every national problem should be found through talks at appropriate forums and not on roads.
“In parliamentary democracy, issues must be discussed at legal forums,” he said.
Zubair said all the issues should be resolved according to the law.
Referring to the recent statement of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto, he said, “Bilawal must remember the corruption allegations against his own party.”
He said the name of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was not mentioned in Panama Papers.
To a question he said the government always wanted to solve matters through dialogue and the parliament was the best for the purpose.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has already used that forum to clarify the things regarding Panama Papers,” he added.
He reminded the PPP of the Charter of Democracy (CoD) signed with the PML-N according to which the party in power would be allowed to complete its tenure without any hurdles created by the other one. The PML-N, he said, acted on the CoD during the PPP’s last tenure.
