ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The authorities have ordered extra ordinary security measures to be taken in all courts across Pakistan after senior lawyers, journalists among dozens were killed in Quetta Civil Hospital blast on Monday morning.
In addition, high Alert has also been issued in all Hospitals in the Federal Capital after the Quetta blast. In this regard, directives have been issued to make all arrangements.
Earlier in the morning, following the killing of President Balochistan Bar Association Bilal Anwar Kasi in a targeted attack in Quetta, a suspected suicide blast at the Civil Hospital also claimed more than 60 lives including of the former President Balochistan Bar Association Baz Muhammad Kakar and AAJ TV Cameraman Shahzad Khan.
The targeted killing of president Balochistan bar association and Quetta blast prompted a nationwide strong condemnation by people from all walks of life including the political leadership.
Three-day mourning in Balochistan
The Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Sanaullah Zehri and Balochistan Bar Association announced to observe three days of mourning over the Quetta Civil Hospital blast
The Supreme Court Bar Association also announced mourning of one week throughout the Country on Quetta incident while lawyers across the country boycotted court proceedings.
In a statement, the President Supreme Court Bar Ali Zafar said that the explosion in Quetta Civil Hospital is aimed at demoralizing lawyers and spread terror. He said that explosion in Quetta is a direct attack on lawyers community.
Other bar associations in the country and lawyers community also strongly condemned the killing of Bilal Anwar Kasi as well as Quetta blast, and announced to go on strike.
