Altaf Hussian goes on hibernation mode while MQM Parliamentarians will head MQM Pakistan
London, United Kingdom: The leadership of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to put its founder Altaf Hussian on hibernation mode for the time being but he will remain party head.
According to MQM insiders, the decision has been taken to form a new wing namely Muttahida Qaumi Movement Parliamentarians (MQMP) that will work under the command of Dr. Farooq Sattar who is official head of MQM registered with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Altaf Hussian who is a British citizen cannot be head of political party in Pakistan because ECP rules do not allow any foreigner to head a political party in Pakistan.
“Altaf Hussain will continue as head of MQM at macro level and conceptual work will be done by him while Farooq Sattar will head MQM Parliamentarians and will deal with Pakistani establishment and political demands”, claim MQM insiders.
According to MQM sources, MQM Parliamentarians shall answerable to Dr. Farooq Sattar while Altaf Hussian would avoid passing adverse comments against Pakistan for the time. Sources claim that Altaf Hussian has been advised by the party leadership to put himself on political hibernation mode to avoid further damage to MQM.
“Well being of workers shall be responsibility of Dr. Farooq Sattar who will try release of arrested workers and shall demand unconditional pardon for MQM workers and will work for quashing of cases against workers”, sources claim.
Sources also claim that Dr. Farooq Sattar has ensured Pakistani establishment that MQM parliamentarians would alienate themselves from Altaf Hussian but this process needs phase-wise alienation and removal of Altaf Hussian from party is not possible at this juncture of time.
Meanwhile, MQM Parliamentarians will continue its stance that Altaf Hussian is facing mental stress and other health issues and has gone under medical treatment. MQM will officially wait for recovery of Altaf Hussian from medical sickness and once he would recover from illness, he shall get hold of parliamentarians also.
