PESHAWAR, Pakistan: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak said provincial government is all set to produce cheap electricity and provide it to investors in industrial zones of KPK.
He was presiding over a meeting attended by MNAs Asad Umar, Jahangir Tarin and Sajida Khattak, Senators, Numan Wazir and Mohsin Aziz, Chairman KP Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZMDC), Ghulam Dastagir, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) KPEZMDC, Syed Muhammad MohsinÂ, Secretary Energy and Power Naeem Khan and Secretary Industries Farah Hamid Khan.
The Chief Minister said provincial government would use natural gas for establishment of three power generation stations at Kohat, Rashkai and Hattar Industrial estate each producing 225 Mega Watt electricity, adding production would be offered to industries in three industrial estates on concession rates.
He assured that provincial government would be a sovereign guarantor in order to attract and facilitate investors in the province.
He directed the concerned authorities to expedite procedural requirements to materialize the dream of rapid industrialization of KPK.
He said KPK was endowed with unlimited natural resources and the government had produced an environment enabling foreign and domestic investors to harness gifts of nature for speedy development of the province.
The meeting also discussed preparations so far being made for utilization of 100 MMCFD natural gas for power generation, recently approved by federal government.
Participants, on the occasion were informed that SNGPL had issued Demand Note to the province for provision of gas supply which had been deposited and thus biddings being invited.
The participants expressed happiness over the overwhelming response of the investors to biddings offered last month.
Relating to rates of electricity produced and sold to industries, it was decided that efforts would be made to keep it on the lowest.
