ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan on Saturday called for immediate attention of the World to stop genocide by India in Occupied Kashmir and sought release of endangered Hurriyat Leaders.

“The constantly deteriorating humanitarian situation in Indian Occupied Kashmir is a matter of grave concern to the people and the Government of Pakistan.

“It has been 100 days since the extra-judicial killing of Kashmiri Youth Leader Burhan Muzaffar Wani that Indian Occupation forces have been indulging in crimes against humanity in IOK, unabated,” Foreign Office said in a statement issued here.

“More than 150 innocent Kashmiris have been martyred in cold blood, over 15,000 are injured and around 1000 suffer from eye injuries due to merciless use of pellet guns, which rendered many hundreds completely blind and scores partially including children and women.

“Thousands of forced disappearances of Kashmiri youth at the hands of Indian forces with their fate unknown for months is also a matter of deep concern,” the statement said.

It said, “People and the Government of Pakistan remain extremely worried over continued detention of Hurriyat Leaders. The illegal detention of APHC Chairman, Syed Ali Geelani, is taking toll on the health of the veteran leader.”

“We express serious concern over the mental torture being inflicted upon Mirwaiz Umar Farooq by keeping him in solitary confinement,” the statement said.

“The health of Mr. Yasin Malik has been allowed to be deteriorated in inhuman conditions in prison because Indian occupation forces, which operate with impunity, are well aware that he is a heart patient,” it added.

The prolonged detention of Hurriyat Leaders in the inhuman environment was a serious violation of the human rights as prisoners of conscience.

Kashmiri women leader, Ms. Asiya Andrabi, also remained under arrest for more than two weeks now with her state of welfare unknown, the statement pointed out.

“Pakistan calls for attention of the International Community, particularly, the UN Secretary General, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Geneva, Secretary General OIC, and Permanent Members of UNSC for taking immediate measures to stop India from committing genocide of defenseless Kashmiris, assign fact finding missions to the Indian Occupied Kashmir and initiate trial of those responsible for the crimes against humanity in Indian Occupied Kashmir,” the statement added.
