ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Friday said the call for agitation by Imran Khan would end up in embarrassment and prove to be the final nail in the coffin.
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, he said, “Imran Khan is desperate, so is adopting different tactics.”
The minister said industrialists, merchants, traders and private school owners of Islamabad had expressed concern over the call of Imran Khan to close down the capital.
All these people agreed that when a matter was in Supreme Court, then there was no reason for agitation, he said adding traders were also worried about their businesses and teachers about opening of schools.
Tariq Fazal said the government was aware of concerns of the citizens about call for lock-down of Islamabad.
“We are taking steps under the supervision of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to manage the situation in Islamabad and we will protect the rights of citizens.”
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited Rahimyar Khan and gave away health cards to people so that they could avail medical treatment.
He said people in Rahimyar Khan were of the view that Imran Khan was the ‘biggest disease’ and he was destroying culture and traditional values of the country
“PTI is doing all this at a time when we are moving towards our objective of economic development, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and efforts to defeat terrorism.”
Referring to steps taken by the government for providing facilities to the people, he said the role of Maryam Nawaz Sharif for improvement of health and education sectors could be seen by everybody.
Maryam Nawaz Sharif was leading the educational reforms programme in Islamabad and schools in the city were being provided buses to facilitate students, he said.
