RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited the National Counter Terrorism Training Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi on Thursday and witnessed Pakistan-China Joint Special Forces Exercise “YOUYI-VI 2016”.
Two weeks long exercise was focused on counter terrorism operations and sharing of field combat experiences of the two Armed Forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
While speaking on the occasion, the COAS congratulated all participants of the exercise for displaying high level of professionalism and combat skills.
The COAS emphasized that such exercises will consolidate our special relationship with Chinese Armed Forces and will help us to eliminate terrorism from the region.
“We are sharing our experiences with the world for the benefit of humanity and as an obligation towards international peace,” the army chief said.
Earlier on his arrival at the NCTC in Pabbi, the COAS was received by Commander 1 Corps Lieutenant General Umar Farooq Durrani and Inspector General Training and Evaluation Lieutenant General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
