ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Mayor Islamabad Metropolitan City (IMC) and CDA Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz Tuesday said the Capital Development Authority (CDA) wanted to move fast to resolve the key issues of business community.
He was talking to a delegation of Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) led by its President Khalid Iqbal Malik, which called on him here. IMC Deputy Mayor Zeeshan Ali Naqvi was also present in the meeting.
Sheikh Anser Aziz said the ICCI should give its proposals for addressing the issues of lease extension and construction of additional storeys in plaza in Marakaz that would be presented to CDA Board for approval, according to an ICCI press release.
He said during the last meeting with ICCI on October 26, two committees, one from CDA and one from IMC, were formed and asked the ICCI representatives to work with these committees to develop a comprehensive strategy for redressing their key issues.
It was decided that ICCI representatives would meet with both the committees within next few days to finalize proposals for submission to the CDA Board.
Speaking on the occasion, the ICCI President said that business community would fully cooperate with CDA in its efforts for the beautification of city, revenue improvement and establishing writ of the government in the city.
He said the chairman was from private sector and business community would support him in making the CDA an efficient and effective civic body to deliver better services and facilities to the citizens.
He said lack of parking facility in commercial centres including Blue Area, was a major issue and the CDA should focus on developing parking plazas in such areas.
Business leaders Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Zafar Bakhtawari, Safdar Awan, Khalid Chaudhry and Muhammad Hussain also spoke on the occasion.
