ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan on Wednesday claimed that the Supreme Court had rejected the letter by Qatari Prince Hamad bin Jassim bin Al Jaber Thani in reference to Panama Papers Case.
“Qatari letter has no head or feet” Imran said while talking to media after hearing of the Panama Case in the Supreme Court on Wednesday, adding that Nawaz Sharif’s case had been finished.
Imran Khan said that statements of Sharif family were contradictory, and its members kept changing them during last seven months which the Supreme Court also observed today.
Earlier, Counsel of the PTI Naeem Bukhari submitted his arguments before the five-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali while counsel of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) prayed the Court to constitute a commission for investigation into Panama Papers.
In his remarks, the Chief Justice said that the private media should have conducted itself in a dignified manner and avoid making irresponsible statements.
The bench also noted that the newspaper cuttings could not be given much weightage in this case.
Later, the Court adjourned the hearing of Panama Papers Case till Tuesday next.
Separately talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court premises, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb said that PTI had failed to provide evidence regarding Panama case in the Supreme Court.
Marriyum said that PTI was still relying on newspaper clippings as evidence in the court regarding Panama case.
The minister said that the public was well aware about the progress and development during Nawaz Sharif’s era. She said that the federal government was implementing the development projects whereas PTI failed to deliver in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
