RAWALPINDI, Pakistan: The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Thursday said that Major General Asif Ghafoor has been posted as its Director General.
In a press release issued in Rawalpindi on Thursday, the ISPR said that Major General Asif Ghafoor is presently commanding a division in Swat.
Major General Asif Ghafoor will replace Lieutenant General Asim Saleem Bajwa who has been appointed as the Inspector General Arms at GHQ in Rawalpindi.
Separately, according to the IPSR press release, Major General Abdullah Dogar has been posted Commandant Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Major General Syed Adnan posted General Officer Commanding (GOC) at Lahore and Major General Fida Malik posted Director General Logistics at army’s general headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
Similarly, Major General Zafarullah Khan has been posted GOC at Panu Aqil, Major General Nadir Khan posted DG Personnel Services and Provost Marshal (PS&PM) at GHQ while Major General Zafar Iqbal posted GOC armour division at Gujranwala.
Earlier in the day, the United States Ambassador to Pakistan David Hale visited GHQ in Rawalpindi and called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
During the meeting, bilateral and regional security issues were discussed, the ISPR another press release said.
