NOWSHERA, Pakistan: The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak on Friday said that the provincial government and China would sign three more agreements for execution of new development schemes in electricity, tourism, roads and railway sector before June 2017.

While addressing a public meeting at Nizampur District Nowshera on Friday, the Chief Minister said that the new agreements to be launched before June next included construction of Gilgit-Dir-Chitral road, 1700 Megawatt electricity project and fast railway track between five districts of KPK.

Khattak said that 1700 MW project has been made part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as Chinese investors were all set to reach Peshawar for execution of the scheme.

The Chief Minister said that Chinese investors would make around USD20bn investment in KPK as a big group of potential Chinese investor were keen to make investment in the province. He said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would get its due share from the CPEC as well.

Pervez Khattak said that the investment would likely be made in infrastructure development of industries, promotion of tourism potential and various natural resources. He said that CPEC to complete by 2030, adding it’s not one year project.

The KPK Chief Minister said that he had result oriented meetings with the Chinese investors who are scheduled to visit KPK next month.

Khattak said that volume of the CPEC has been increase to $70 billion from $46 billion and would reach $300 billion mark by 2030. He said that the provinces which would present good and feasible schemes would attract the maximum investment, adding if we could present good investment program, the investors would certainly move to our province.

The Chief Minister said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is endowed with God gifted natural resources like water, tourism and minerals and can fetch the maximum investment if could present better schemes in these sectors. He said that we have big scope of markets in Central Asia and Afghanistan

Pervez Khattak said that the PKPK government was pursuing one point agenda to bring Change in the governance system and introduced radical reforms in social sector, ensure postings and transfers on merit and launched massive campaign against corruption and commission mafias.
