ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) said that a large number of tourists from various parts of the Country were thronging Murree, Ayubia and Galiyat to enjoy snowfall, and expressed hope that more tourists would visit various hill resorts in the coming days.
Talking to the media, an official of the PTDC official said that it has started work on analyzing the tourists ratio to various famous resorts during winter season.
The PTDC official said that on the end of the season, a detailed report would also be issued to compare the tourists flow to previous years.
The official further added that with start of snowfall the tourists ratio doubled in northern areas and especially in Galiyat, Ayubia and Murree.
In addition, he said that PTDC information Center work round the clock to facilitate the tourists and provide required information about various famous resorts.
The PTDC official said that the hotel industry of hilly areas also expressed hope that more tourists come and stay, adding that they said that their business improved with the start of snowfall. He said that the resorts including Bhurban, New Murree, Kashmir Point, Pindi Point, Mall Road and Ayubia were packed with tourists.
Meanwhile, according to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places of upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Mardan divisions), FATA, Rawalpindi Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Kohat, Bannu, D.I. Khan, Zhob and Quetta divisions.
Dense foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during night and morning hours.
Intermittent Rain with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha and Lahore divisions), FATA, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Rain/drizzle with light snow over the hills occurred at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara divisions and Kashmir while at a few places of Peshawar, Rawalpindi divisions and Islamabad.
Foggy conditions are likely to continue over plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh.
