ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Pakistan has registered its serious concern with the Kabul government over terrorist attacks on Pakistani Soil by Jumaat-ul-Ahrar from sanctuaries in Afghanistan.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the Foreign Office said that the Additional Secretary (UN&EC) Tasnim Aslam summoned that Afghan Deputy Head of Mission Syed Abdul Nasir Yousafi in Islamabad on Tuesday (yesterday).
The Foreign Office said that the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission was conveyed the grave concern of Pakistan about the continuing terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil by the terrorist outfit Jumaat-ul-Ahrar from its sanctuaries inside Afghanistan.
The attention of the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission was also drawn to the earlier actionable intelligence shared by our authorities with the Afghan side.
The Afghan government was urged to take urgent measures to eliminate the terrorists and their sanctuaries, financiers and handlers operating from its territory.
Furthermore, the Foreign Office said that an Aide-Memoire containing details of the terrorist attacks and supporting information was also shared with the Afghan Deputy Head of Mission.
Last Monday, a suicide blast at Lahore’s Chairing Cross left 15 persons including senior police officers martyred while over 100 injured. Later, Jumaat-ul-Ahrar admitted to have been involved in Lahore blast.
