ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Australian Ambassador for Counter-terrorism Paul Foley PSM accompanied by the Australian High Commissioner Margaret Adamson held a meeting with the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Syed Tariq Fatemi in Islamabad on Monday.

During the meeting, the special assistant briefed the Australian ambassador on Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts and resolve to eradicate the scourge of terrorism.

Tariq Fatemi also informed the ambassador Paul Foley about Pakistan’s desire to work together with Afghanistan against this menace.

The ambassador Paul Foley expressed his condolences on the loss of life in recent terrorist attacks and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Meanwhile, the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Representative for Afghanistan Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto also met Tariq Fatemi in Islamabad today and discussed the situation in Afghanistan and efforts for promoting long term peace and stability in the war-torn Country.
